Om are the doom metal band of current times and bring their show to the one and only Berghain here in Berlin for what will surely an aurally pleasing experience on that immense sound system.
Consisting only of drums and bass, this duo of Al Cisneros (bass), formerly of Sleep, and Emil Amos on drums, have released four albums with new cut Advaitic Songs due out in July on Drag City. Apparently it’s linked with, but also distinct from, 2009′s God Is Good, whatever that cryptic quote from Drag City is supposed to mean. There’s really not much written about this band that doesn’t purely consist of the words heavy, doom, metal, stoner, rockin’ bag of shit, headbangin’ good, and heavy again, so I’ll leave their live video speak for itself, this is Om live at Amoeba records in L.A:
Nadja on the other hand can definitely be written about with a certain degree of first hand knowledge but again I’ll simply leave you with this, Thaumogenesis, which has been out of print and will be available at the show…so I advise stopping at the merch table on your way in cos if Nadja play this loud in Berghain we all might shit ourselves before Om come on and miss their set entirely…Nadja, the awesomest band in Berlin.
